 Within the boundaries of our National Forests there are many privately owned properties or “inholdings.” Among these inholdings are highly sensitive sites, originally homesteaded for their abundance of water and natural resources, attributes that make these properties immensely valuable to the Forest Service in their rolls as stewards of both land and wildlife.
These same attributes, however, often make these pieces desirable for private development and a balance must be found that serves the public interest. |
